Greenluxlight has completed deliveries to all the Swedish Maritime Administration’s icebreakers with very positive results both in better light quality as well as significant energy savings in the extensive LED conversion from existing fluorescent light fittings to the latest technology in LED lighting.

On board the ships, Greenluxlight luminaires have been installed mostly with ActiveAhead, which is a wireless presence control from our partner Helvar.

In some spaces, a traditional on/off system with motion sensors is used, and in others the choice has been Dali/switch dim.

Energy savings have been around 80–90%. In addition, the lighting experience on board has improved, says Magnus Byström, technical manager on board the ships.

ODEN was the last ship to go through the LED conversion, where fluorescent lamps were changed to approx. 500 Greenluxlight GFE1240 with the self-learning wireless-controlled ActiveAhead function and approx. 220 GLP6060 fixtures with ActiveAhead and Dali control.

The collaboration during the years that the LED conversion has been going on was very successful and appreciated both by the staff on board and the ordering party.
